Asset Manager - Property Management/Real Estate

📍 Location: Downtown San Diego, CA

🏢 Work Arrangement: On-site, full-time (exempt)

About the Role:

Our growing Real Estate client is seeking a highly motivated Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of multifamily apartment communities, ranging from stabilized properties to those undergoing major renovations. This role is based on-site in Downtown San Diego and reports directly to the Managing Director of Asset Management.

You’ll be responsible for driving financial and operational performance, maximizing returns, and executing strategic business plans across multiple assets and markets.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead asset management strategy to optimize revenue, expenses, and capital investment
  • Oversee renovation projects in collaboration with design and construction teams
  • Develop and manage business plans to grow long-term asset value
  • Create and track budgets, forecasts, capital needs, and risk-return metrics
  • Manage cash flow and investor distributions
  • Provide clear direction to third-party property management partners
  • Conduct property visits, market tours, and competitive analysis
  • Represent the client in key markets and monitor trends in demographics, jobs, and supply
  • Support Investor Relations with reporting, inquiries, and tours
  • Partner with Acquisitions on due diligence, underwriting, and business planning

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5–7 years of experience in multifamily asset management preferred
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and risk-assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • High integrity and ability to engage with internal teams and external partners at all levels
