Job Description: The Pharmacy Clinical Supervisor manages the pharmacist staff providing clinical pharmacy services to the Medical Center’s patients. The Supervisor develops educational and training programs for the department to assure the competency of the pharmacists delivering those services. He/she develops, markets, implements and evaluates clinical programs that meet the pharmaceutical care needs of the medical center’s patients. The Supervisor maintains accountability for departmental quality assurance/improvement in regard to clinical activities including drug use evaluation, adverse drug reaction monitoring, clinical interventions, and providing drug information. He/she supervises pharmacists and precepts pharmacy students on rotation from schools of pharmacy. As necessary, the Supervisor participates in direct patient care activities.
