Position Overview:

SunVest’s Legal team is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across the organization, ensuring the company's operations comply with applicable laws and regulations, and facilitating our ambitious growth plans through strategic legal counsel.

As our Legal Analyst, you will report directly to the Chief People & Legal Officer, and you will be responsible for supporting the Legal team more broadly, including on Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship compliance, as well as other critical operational, contractual, and organizational initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to engage meaningfully in the development of renewable energy projects while helping to streamline legal processes and documentation standards across the company. Responsibilities include:

Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship Compliance

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements under federal and state regulations, including IRS guidance under Sections 45Y and 48E of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Track and maintain wage determinations, job classifications, and apprenticeship ratios across development and construction projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party platforms to implement compliance workflows.

Contract Management & Legal Operations

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing standard legal documents and agreements using company templates.
  • Support continuous improvement of template documents and contracting processes.
  • Maintain organized and accessible legal records and files, including project-related compliance documents.

Special Projects & Legal Support

  • Support special legal, compliance, or operational projects as assigned by the Chief People & Legal Officer.
  • Conduct legal and policy research as needed.
  • Provide tracking and support for emerging regulatory or tax incentive issues (e.g., FEOC rules, beginning of construction requirements, and bonus credit eligibility).

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Finance, Economics, Business, or a closely related field is preferred. Strong academic performance (e.g., academic honors at a top ranked school) is highly valued.
  • Detail Orientation: Demonstrated ability to manage compliance tracking, organize documents, and follow evolving legal rules.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset for process improvements.
  • Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Outstanding organizational and time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range for this role reflects the broad array of factors considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $55,000-$70,000 . At SunVest, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, as compensation decisions are tailored to the specifics of each case.
