Seeking a motivated professional to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations at all government levels. Responsibilities include monitoring operations, preparing and submitting reports, conducting audits, and coordinating with regulatory agencies to enhance environmental performance.

This role will be hybrid and based at our Jackson, New Jersey facility.

Handex Consulting & Remediation, LLC (Handex) is a full-service environmental company focused on providing professional environmental consulting, remediation, and sludge dewatering services in the United States. Founded in 1968, we have over 56+ years of experience and have no intention of slowing down!

MY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with discharge permits, air permits, storm water permits and spill plans.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits as needed to identify potential environmental risks or violations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit required environmental permits and reports (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, air emissions, waste management).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of environmental policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on changes in environmental laws and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental compliance matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of environmental monitoring and compliance activities.
  • Serve as liaison with environmental regulatory agencies and respond to inspections or inquiries.

SKILLS NEEDED FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in New Jersey environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, or regulatory affairs.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and New Jersey state environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with environmental reporting software is a plus.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites across New Jersey as needed.

SALARY RANGE:

$70K TO $95k
