Overview

An industry-leading architecture and engineering firm in New York City is seeking a Director to lead and grow its well-established Structural Restoration Group. This is a rare leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in structural restoration, forensic investigation, and parking garage projects.

We are looking for someone who not only brings technical expertise but also strategic vision, team leadership, and client relationship management skills. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 10 years of progressive experience. A Qualified Parking Structure Inspector (QPSI) certification is highly desirable.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Structural Restoration Group, overseeing staff, projects, and client relationships.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the group's market share in NYC and beyond.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations of structural failures, facade deterioration, and parking garage compliance projects.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record on major projects; sign and seal reports and construction documents.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.
  • Prepare proposals, manage budgets, and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with architects, property managers, attorneys, and developers.



Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (NY preferred).
  • QPSI certification (or eligibility to obtain) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structural restoration, structural forensic investigations, and parking structure projects
  • Deep understanding of NYC Building Code, Local Laws (including LL126), and best practices in structural diagnostics and repair.
  • Strong leadership skills with previous experience managing teams of Architects and Engineers
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and teams.
