Primary Purpose:
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for the compliance side of the special education management program. This position regularly audits federal timelines, and communicates with campuses in a timely manner, to meet timelines. The Compliance coordinator will ensure records and dates in the system are accurate.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree
Master’s degree from accredited university
Certifications:
● Valid Texas Teacher Certification
● Special Education EC–12 Certification
● ESL K-12 Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrate an understanding of federal timelines for ARDs and evaluations Demonstrate and understanding of use of data management system Demonstrate knowledge in the required areas that must be addressed in an ARD Demonstrate knowledge in the required areas that must be addressed in an FIE Demonstrate knowledge in the compliance side of assessment position Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate areas of need or concern to supervisors
Experience:
● Minimum 3 years as a special education teacher
● ARD Facilitator experience preferred
● Prior Sped Administrative experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Staff Development:
Compliance related staff development as assigned by supervisor.
Compliance: Assist campuses with maintaining accurate compliance records Communicate with campuses when compliance records require additional information Monitor ARD and FIE timelines in the data management system Assist assistant executive director and director with communicating upcoming dates to campuses for compliance needs Work with legal counsel to ensure all audits follow the audit process Communicate with the special education admin when compliance difficulties arise. Create and implement ongoing audit system to ensure IEP Compliance and provide training as necessary Complete required state and federal guidelines reporting Create monthly reports to track instructional setting codes
Additional Duties:
May be called on to assist with an ARD as assigned by the supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Share supervision responsibilities of ARD Campus Coordinators.
