Position Title: Director of Finance
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 (Commensurate with experience)
This is a hybrid position. Office hours required on Wednesday and Thursday.

General Purpose of the Job:
The Director of Finance is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the financial operations of Success for All. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, particularly in the non-profit sector. This role will provide leadership to the finance department and work closely with senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth performance analysis to guide organizational strategy
Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial statements and regulatory reports, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations
Prepare detailed and insightful financial reports for the Board of Directors, offering critical analysis and clear guidance on financial trends and key performance metrics
Review and validate tax returns, ensuring all filings are accurate and comply with applicable tax laws
Lead all activities necessary to complete annual audit, preparation of financial statements, and 990 tax forms in coordination with outside accounting firm.
Ensure the accurate coding of all financial transactions in the organization’s accounting software, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency
Prepare and submit financial reports required for grant compliance, ensuring timely and precise reporting in line with grantor requirements
Work closely with marketing, operations, business development, and other key departments to align financial strategies with organizational goals, driving overall financial success
Prepare and submit annual indirect cost rate proposal to the U.S. Department of Education
Continuously evaluate and recommend enhancements to accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for billing, collections, and some financial reporting
· Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations
· Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff
Required Skills/Abilities:
~ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required, CPA highly preferred
~5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in senior financial management roles
~ Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop solutions
~ Excellent communication skills to convey financial information clearly to internal and external stakeholders
~ Thorough understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry practices
~ Demonstrated willingness to take a hands-on approach and engage deeply in day-to-day financial tasks when needed
~ Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve financial objectives
~ Experience using Certinia Financial Management system preferred
~ Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
~ Excellent management and supervisory skills
Working Conditions:
Hybrid position. Work is normally performed at Success for All’s Towson Office on Wednesday and Thursday’s. Additional office days may be scheduled as needed.
